The Lipton's seat lookout is one of Sri Lanka’s most impressive viewpoints. It was named after the Scottish Tea Barron, Sir Thomas Lipton, it was his favorite lookout point. On a misty and cloudy day, of course, it won’t be easy to get a good view, so we always advise you to go for an early morning walk.

Sri Lanka's greatest historical chronical, Mahavamsa reveals that Mahiyanganaya was visited and blessed by Lord Buddha. While traveling to Mahiyanganaya, on the road from Kandy to Padiyathalawa across Hunnasgiriya one will encounter the famous 18 hairpin bends. Mahaweli, the longest river of Sri Lanka flows through Mahiyanganaya.
